Setting up your point of sale (POS) system shouldn't be one of the headaches. Whether you run a bustling supermarket, a cozy bookstore, or a high traffic electronics shop, getting your digital infrastructure right is the first step toward efficiency.

At Howmuch, we've designed our signup process to be as intuitive as our software. This guide walks you through every stage of creating your account, verifying your credentials, and launching your store, so you can focus on what matters most: selling.


Accessing the Signup Portal:

Your journey begins at the Howmuch signup page. You can reach this secure portal through several easy entry points:

  • Direct URL: Simply navigate to /business/join in your browser.
  • Website Navigation: Click the "Join" or "Register" button located in the navigation bar of our homepage.
  • Footer Links: Scroll to the bottom of any page and select "For Business."

Once you arrive, you will see a clean, user-friendly form ready for your details.


Step 1: Creating Your Account

The initial registration form collects the essential information needed to secure your account and tailor the experience to your business needs.

Personal and Contact Details:

You will need to provide your First Name and a valid Email Address. Your email acts as your primary communication channel for account verification and support updates.

Next, enter your Phone Number. The system features a smart country code selector that often auto detects your location. You can also opt-in for WhatsApp alerts here a highly recommended feature for staying updated on business-critical notifications.

Security:

Create a strong Password (minimum 6 characters) and confirm it in the second field. We take security seriously, so ensure your password is unique to protect your business data.

Selecting Your Store Type:

This is a crucial step where you define your business model. You can select from the following options:

  • POS: Ideal for physical brick-and-mortar stores.
  • e-Commerce: Perfect for online-only digital storefronts.
  • POS + e-Commerce: The best choice for omnichannel retailers selling both in-store and online.
  • DMS: For businesses requiring a Document Management System.
  • All: A comprehensive suite giving you access to all system capabilities.

After completing the reCAPTCHA to confirm you aren't a robot, hit Register to proceed.


Step 2: Verifying Your Credentials

Security is paramount when handling sales and customer data. After registering, you will be redirected to a verification page.

  1. Receive Your Code: A 6-digit PIN code is instantly generated and sent to both your registered email address and phone number via SMS.
  2. Enter the PIN: Input this code into the "Verification Code" field on the screen.
  3. Confirmation: Once verified, the system automatically sets your preferred currency based on your location and prepares your account for the next step.

If you don't receive the code immediately, simply use the "Resend Token" link provided on the page.


Step 3: Choosing Your Plan

Now that you are verified, it's time to select a pricing plan that aligns with your budget and business scale. You will see options organized by billing frequency (Monthly or Yearly) and trial status.

Each plan card displays the price, billing cycle, and a detailed list of features. You have two ways to proceed:

  • Select: Adds the plan to your cart. This is useful if you want to browse multiple options or add specific features before checking out.
  • Buy Now: This acts as an express checkout, bypassing the cart review to fast-track your setup.

Need more power? Check the "Add-Ons" section. These are supplementary features like extra storage or premium support, that complement your main subscription. Just like your main plan, these can be added to your cart with a single click.

Step 4: Configuring Your Store

Once payment is processed, you arrive at the final and most exciting step: "Create Your Store." This is where you bring your brand to life within the Howmuch ecosystem.

Brand Visuals:

Make your store recognizable immediately.

  • Logo: Upload your official business logo (PNG or JPEG).
  • Banner: Upload a high-quality cover image (min 1000x1000 pixels) to serve as your store banner.

Store Information:

Fill in the vital details that your customers need:

  • Store Name: The official display name of your shop.
  • Description: A rich-text area where you can tell your brand story (up to 500 characters).
  • Shop Type: Reconfirm your operational model (e.g., POS, e-Commerce).

Location and Contact:

Accurate location data is critical for delivery and local discovery. You will need to provide:

  • Address: Street address, city, state, and country.
  • Specifics: Building, floor, and room numbers (if applicable).
  • Contact: The primary phone number for store operations.

Launching Your Business:

After filling in your details, click the green Save & Continue button. The system runs a quick validation to ensure all images are optimized and fields are correct.

Upon success, you will see a "Store Successfully Created" message. Depending on your chosen store type, you will be immediately redirected to your new command center either the POS dashboard or the eCommerce products page.

And just like that, you are ready to start selling.
